Today in Lawrence: Folk musician bringing confidence to Liberty Hall

Rhiannon Giddens

Sunny perfection

Today is a near-perfect, sun-shiney day, with bright skies and a high near 73. Wind will be out of the north at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight will have mostly clear skies, with a low around 45. North winds will again be 5 to 10 mph.

Giddens gracing the stage

Folk musician Rhiannon Giddens sang for President Barack Obama and held it together. But she completely fell apart when she met one of her idols, the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Let’s hope Giddens keeps her cool as she shows off some of her critically acclaimed talent tonight at Liberty Hall, 645 Massachusetts. Doors open at 7 p.m., the show starts at 8 p.m.; tickets start at $24.
