LHS softball downed by ONW

? After falling behind by five runs in the first inning, Lawrence High’s softball team couldn’t catch up in a 13-9 loss to Olathe Northwest on Tuesday at the College Boulevard Activity Center.

The Lions (7-6) drilled 13 hits and scored three runs in each the third and sixth innings, but the Ravens continued to add to their lead, scoring four runs in the fourth inning for an 11-3 advantage.

In the sixth inning, freshman Morgan Husman hit her first career home run, a two-run shot.

LHS will host Shawnee Mission North at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
