Today in Lawrence: Neutral Milk Hotel will draw a line down Mass.

Mild days

The chill of Sunday and Monday will linger a bit early this morning, but don’t let that get you down. Today’s forecast calls for more sunshine than we’ve seen recently and a high in the low 70s by mid-afternoon. It’s a perfect day to hit the streets and experience all that downtown Lawrence has to offer.

What’s the crowd?

Speaking of downtown Lawrence, watch for a long line of music lovers piling up on the east side of Massachusetts Street just north of Seventh Street as the day progresses. They’re hoping for a good spot to see indie rock icons Neutral Milk Hotel at Liberty Hall in a show that’s been sold out for months. Jeff Mangum and his bandmates are best known for the 1998 album-to-end-all-albums “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea,” largely ignored in its time, which since has come to be regarded by music critics as one of the greatest projects produced by an American band that decade.
