Last weekend, I was planning an activity outdoors with a small group of people. When the weather forecast called for rain, I went over to the Rock Chalk sports center on Saturday, and tried to rent a space for the next day. The young man at the counter told me that two weeks notice was required to rent space at the center.

I canceled my activity, went back on Sunday, and found that two basketball courts, the tumbling room, and the champions room were sitting there empty, as well as other spaces in the building that we could have used. I have a suggestion for the city: Make space available for the public right up until the time someone else is actually going to use it. This suggestion would increase city revenue, in this time of tight city budgets, and maximize use of the facility.
