Malik Newman, a 6-foot-3 senior shooting guard from Callaway High in Jackson, Mississippi, will announce his college choice on Friday, Newman said today on Twitter.

“Friday at 12 (noon, Central time) tune in to see where I’ll be attending school next year!” Newman wrote.

The announcement will come in a closed setting live streamed at clarionledger.com.

Newman, a McDonald’s All-American who is ranked No. 3 nationally by Rivals.com, has a list of Kansas University, Kentucky, Mississippi State, LSU, Mississippi and North Carolina State.

Some recruiting analysts believe Mississippi State and Kentucky are the leaders. Newman’s dad, Horatio Webster, played at Mississippi State.
