Kansas University’s basketball team, which is the USA National Team for the World University Games, will meet Team Canada in two exhibition games in June at Kansas City’s Sprint Center. 

The games will serve as a tune-up for KU’s participation in the World University Games in South Korea the following month.

The games will be played at 7 p.m., June 23 and 26. Tickets are currently available for Williams Education Fund members. Seating will be based on WEF level and points. A two-game ticket package is available for $50. General public sales will begin on May 13.

This will be the first public appearance by the 2015-16 Jayhawks, and will include the incoming recruiting class. The Canadian team is the one that will participate in the World University Games, thus is not the national team that will include former KU player Andrew Wiggins.

The United States International University Sports Federation (US-IUSF) selected the Jayhawks to represent the United States in the World University Games, which takes place July 3-14. Even though selected by the US-IUSF, all the costs associated with the trip are the responsibility of the institution.  The proceeds from these two exhibition games will help fund these expenses, KU indicated

The World University Games, as well as the two exhibition games, will be administered under FIBA rules. The most notable differences from the college game are the four, 10-minute quarters and a 24-second shot clock.
