Erik Czapinski, David Neff and Declan Forth claimed the lone singles victories in Free State High’s 6-3 tennis loss to Washburn Rural on Wednesday at Free State High.

Czapinski defeated Rural’s Max Cassidy, 8-4; Neff upended Jordan Lind, 8-4; and Forth downed Brenden Garland, 8-6.

But the Firebirds lost three other singles matches and all three doubles matches.
