Lawrence school district opening enrollment for summer driver education
Enrollment for the Lawrence school district’s summer driver education program will open April 11.
The 150 spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive. Enrollment is $150.
The program offers two sessions over the course of the summer: 7 to 11 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., June 1-30 at Free State.
Students, age 14 or older at the time of enrollment, must be present to enroll; adults are not required to attend. Students must bring a birth certificate; eyeglasses or contacts if the student wears them; a learner’s permit if the student has already obtained one; and a check, money order or cash for the enrollment fee. Students will also have to complete an instructional permit and a vision check as part of the enrollment process.
To streamline the enrollment process, the district encourages students to complete an enrollment form before April 11. The form can be found on the district’s website, USD497.org.
