Overland Park ? Piper Hubbell scored eight minutes into the second half, goalkeeper Andrew Ornburn recorded a shutout, and Lawrence High defeated Shawnee Mission West, 1-0, on Thursday night in boys soccer.

Hubbell scored on an assist from Jake Burdett off a corner kick.

“We had a tough time getting our energy going,” LHS coach Mike Murphy said. “The guys kept their composure. We defended real well tonight. They’re playing tough, they’re playing physical. Hopefully they can continue to keep doing what they’re doing.”
