Carlton M. Grass, 52, of Tulsa, Okla., was charged Thursday with one count of rape of a person incapable of giving consent in connection with a June 15 incident in downtown Lawrence.

In July, a warrant for Grass’ arrest was entered into the national crime database. He was arrested on Aug. 2 in Tulsa, after a retired sheriff’s deputy spotted him. He was extradited from Oklahoma to Douglas County Wednesday after pleading guilty to an unrelated charge of false impersonation.

He is currently in the Douglas County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Grass will make his next court appearance on Monday.
