Today in Lawrence: Sunny skies, KU clothing drive, panel discussion on water
Another day in paradise
There will be a few clouds from time to time, but overall a beautiful day is in store for Lawrence. The high is expected to be 74 degrees with mostly sunny skies; the low will drop to about 52 degrees. No chance of rain; bring on the sun!
Clothing drive
The KU Homecoming Steering Committee is partnering with United Across Borders and sponsoring a campus-wide clothing drive to help provide clothing to people in need. The campus and Lawrence community is invited to participate in this event. Bring your T-shirts, sweaters, jackets and blankets to the Adams Alumni Center, 1266 Oread Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Student groups will receive points for clothing collected.
Water works
A panel of representatives of conservation organizations will evaluate the current draft of the state’s 50-year Vision for The Future of Water in Kansas, sponsored by the Jayhawk Audubon Society. The panel discussion starts at 7:30 p.m. at Fellowship Hall, Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 New Hampshire St.
