• The Lawrence chamber of commerce welcomed five businesses as members: the DCCCA Center, Kaw Valley Hearing LLC, The Raven Book Store, Roy’s Wine & Spirits and Sensora Spa.

• Roger Walter, of Lawrence, was recently selected by by his peers to be included in the “Best Lawyers in America 2015” list by BestLawyers.com in the field of securities and capital markets law. He works for the Law Offices of Morris, Laing, Evans, Brock & Kennedy, Chtd. in Topeka.

• Kansas University’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences presented Donn Parson, a professor emeritus in communication studies, with the 2014 Career Achievement Teaching Award. The award includes a $1,000 prize.

• Sheila Meggison, a certified massage therapist in Lawrence, recently participated in the CranioSacral Therapy 1 workshop offered by the Upledger Institute International. CranioSacral Therapy is used to correct imbalances in the craniosacral system.
