Minneapolis ? Kansas University senior golfer Gabriella DiMarco shot a two-round 145 to put herself in a tie for fourth place after the first day of the Minnesota Invitational on Monday at The Minikahda Club.

As a team, KU is in fourth at 605, five strokes behind second-place Purdue (600). East Carolina leads at 581.

“Overall, we played steady today with the exception of giving away a few shots on our final hole,” KU coach Erin O’Neil said. “Minikahda is a very challenging course from tee to green and requires the players to be smart and patient all day.”

KU sophomore Pornvipa Sakdee, champion of last week’s Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational, shot 77 (+5) in both of her rounds. She is tied for 26th at 154 (+10)

Kansas’ other scores: Michelle Woods, tied for 39th, 155; Yupaporn Kawinpakorn, tied for 45th, 156; and Kallie Gonzales, tied for 53rd, 158.
