To the editor:

Late Night again is approaching (Oct. 10). I would encourage the KU athletic department to drastically alter the past procedures for entering the Fieldhouse.

Last year was a chaotic mess. People were asked to bring canned goods to the affair, and the only people I saw bring items were the ones turned away. Apparently those rude, selfish young individuals who mob-rushed the doors brought only their bad manners.

This year I would suggest selling tickets for perhaps $10 for adults and $5 for kids, which would guarantee a more orderly entrance. I have talked to numerous KU fans, and no one I talked to objected to this. This entertainment is certainly worth $10. Also the profits could go to such places as Just Food, the Senior Center or Salvation Army. I certainly hope the athletic department will consider suggestions of this kind. Rock Chalk!
