Overland Park ? Lawrence High’s boys soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Blue Valley West on Tuesday night.

“The first half was pretty evenly matched,” LHS coach Mike Murphy said. “We had the wind first half, and we missed some opportunities. In the second half, we started moving the ball better and created more looks.

“You’ve got to take advantage of opportunities, and we didn’t. We just looked a little tentative and a little hesitant around the goal.”

The only goal the Lions allowed came about 10 minutes into the game.

“Our defense played really well,” Murphy said.

The Lions (1-1) will host Olathe Northwest on Tuesday.
