LHS volleyball drops pair
Lawrence High volleyball fell to Wichita-Kapaun Mt. Carmel and St. James, Thursday, to fall to 0-3 on the season.
The Lions roared to a 25-17 first-set win against Kapaun Mt. Carmel, but lost the next two, 25-7, 25-20.
St. James, a perennial power on the national level, swept the Lions, 25-12, 25-9.
Caroline Dykes paced the Lions offensively with seven kills, while Keeli Billings and Kyleigh Severa set the tone defensively with 15 and 10 digs, respectively. Marlee Bird added a team-high eight assists.
LHS will play Saturday at Olathe South.
