Paul Davis stops in Lawrence to cast ballot; advance voting open until 7

Democratic candidate for Kansas governor Paul Davis, the House Minority Leader from Lawrence, stopped by the Douglas County Courthouse to cast his vote on Friday morning.

Davis, who is running against Republican incumbent Sam Brownback, was accompanied by his wife, Stephanie, and 4-year-old daughter, Caroline. Davis spoke briefly with the media after voting.

Brownback voted Monday at the Shawnee County Elections office in Topeka.

Douglas County voters can cast advance ballots at four different locations Friday:

  • Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St., from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Brandon Woods Smith Center, 4730 Brandon Woods Terr., 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St., 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • KU Multicultural Resource Center, 1299 Oread Ave., 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Advance voting for Tuesday’s general election will also be available at four locations on Saturday morning and at the Douglas County courthouse on Monday morning. Advance voting ends at noon on Monday. Precinct polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. For more details, see the Douglas County elections website.
