Three injured in three-vehicle crash in Douglas County

A tractor trailer failed to yield at a stop sign Saturday, causing a three-vehicle collision that sent three people to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

About 6 p.m., the tractor trailer heading westbound on North 1000 Road failed to stop at the intersection with East 1900 Road and hit one vehicle, according to Lt. Randall Cheek. That vehicle then hit a third vehicle, Cheek said.

A woman and two children, 6 and 8 years old, from one of the vehicles were transported to LMH with injuries for “cautionary” reasons, Cheek said. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

The crash was still under investigation Saturday night, Cheek said.
