Seabury drops two volleyball matches

? Regan Zaremba had 26 assists and five digs, and Ellen Almanza had 11 kills and 12 digs, but Bishop Seabury Academy dropped a pair of volleyball matches Monday at Perry-Lecompton High.

Seabury (18-15) fell to Tonganoxie, 25-19, 25-17, and to Perry, 25-19, 26-24.

Reilly Malone had 13 kills and two blocks, Celia Taylor-Puckett added nine digs, Vivian Aubel had six digs, and Caroline Padgett had a kill, a dig and two aces.

“On a night when we were missing our starting outside hitter (Taylor Hodge) due to illness, we struggled to find any sort of rhythm,” Seabury coach Chrissy Leuty said. “Taylor leads our team in serve receive and service, and her absence was noticed. If you look at the scores, all our games were close, but I don’t feel like we played up to our potential.”

Seabury will open substate Saturday against a to-be-determined foe.
