Today in Lawrence: Sun, history, music and nerds!

The Quantrill’s Raid Walking Tour is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and starts at Watkins Museum of History, 1047 Massachusetts St. Space is limited.

Good day, sunshine

It’s a beautiful day in store in Lawrence: The high of 67 will be complemented by lovely sunny skies. There’s no rain in the forecast, and the blustery wind that started off the week will calm down a little. Low will be about 43 degrees with clear nighttime skies.

Stroll through history

Spend an evening walking the very streets where Lawrence’s future was changed forever. This guided walking tour of Downtown Lawrence explores the history of that day in 1863 when guerrilla raiders attacked the city and killed nearly 200 people. Quantrill’s Raid Walking Tour starts at 6 p.m. at Watkins Museum of History, 1047 Massachusetts St. Space limited; sign up at www.watkinsmuseum.org.

Free admission if you dress up as your favorite nerdy person or thing. Doors open at Pachamama’s Alton Ballroom at 7:30 p.m.; presentations start at 8 pm. $1 cover for un-costumed nerds.
