Lawrence school district schedules public meetings for proposed attendance zone changes

The Lawrence school district is mulling over changes to attendance zones for elementary and middle schools beginning next year and will hold six public meetings for community members to give feedback.

Meetings will be held at:

• Oct. 21: 5:30 p.m. at Langston Hughes Elementary and 7 p.m. at Sunflower Elementary

• Nov. 3: 5:30 p.m. at Quail Run Elementary and 7 p.m. at Deerfield Elementary

• Nov. 6: 5:30 p.m. at Schwegler Elementary and 7 p.m. at Pinckney Elementary

The hour-long meetings will include a presentation by district officials on the proposed changes and time for discussion and feedback. If approved by the board in November, all boundary adjustments, save for one, would take affect in August 2015.
