Baker, Haskell runners compete at NAIA meet

More than 650 runners competed Saturday in the NAIA cross country championships at Rim Rock Farm, including a few locally from Haskell Indian Nations University and Baker University.

The Baker men’s cross country team placed 31st overall out of 36 teams. The Wildcats received an automatic bid to the meet for winning the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Jamie Steury was the No. 1 runner for BU, clocking in with an 8,000-meter time of 27:16.70, which was good for 202nd place out of 320 competitors.
