KU office of scholarly communication named after former provost, executive vice chancellor

An office within Kansas University’s library system has been named after former university provost and executive vice chancellor David Shulenburger, the school announced Tuesday.

The naming of the Shulenburger Office of Scholarly Communication & Copyright recognizes a recent major gift from Shulenburger and his important role in establishing a foundation for the university’s adoption of an open-access policy, according to a news release.

The release did not specify Shulenburger’s gift, but said it will support programming and operations for expanding open access or public access for scholarly content at KU.
