Salina ? Clayton Hancock pitched two hitless, shutout innings of relief and doubled, scored a run and drove in another as De Soto beat Paola, 10-5, in the championship game of the Class 4A Div. I state tournament on Friday.

Greyson Jenista tripled and drove in two runs, Devon Freeman had two RBIs, and Maxwell Taulbee doubled and drove in three for De Soto.

Earlier Friday, the Wildcats blanked Rose Hill, 9-0, in the semifinals.

In the 4A Div. II final, Perry-Lecompton fell to Kansas City (Kan.) Bishop Ward, 5-2, in the title game.

Perry-Lecompton beat Baxter Springs, 2-1, in the semifinal to advance.
