Former Lawrence High football and track coach Bill Freeman will be inducted in the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame on Oct. 5 in Wichita.

Freeman’s daughter posted the news on Facebook on Thursday. There has been a concerted effort of Freeman’s family, friends, former players, coaches and media members to get Freeman inducted this year. He’s suffering from Alzheimer’s. More details in coming days as they are available.
