KU football season opener set for 6 p.m. kickoff

Sept. 6 game vs. Southeast Mo. St. to be televised on Jayhawk Television Network

The Big 12 Conference released the television broadcast assignments for the first three weeks of the 2014 college football season, with Kansas University scheduled for television in each of its first two games.

Kansas, playing under third-year coach Charlie Weis, will open the 2014 football season with a home game versus Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, Sept. 6. The KU-SEMO game will be played at 6 p.m., on the Jayhawk Television Network in the state of Kansas and the Kansas City metro area, and is available outside of the state lines to a national audience on ESPN3.

As previously announced, Kansas will travel to Duke on Saturday, Sept. 13 for a 2:30 p.m. (CT), game versus the Blue Devils. The KU-Duke game will be televised on the ACC Regional Sports Networks.

The Jayhawks have a bye the opening week of the 2014 college football season.

Kansas made four appearances on Fox Sports 1 in 2013, two on Fox Sports Net and JTV and one each on ESPN, ESPNU and CBS Sports Network.
