Lawrence police have identified a suspect from Saturday morning's shooting that occurred on 10th Street near the Replay Lounge.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence Police Department spokesperson, said detectives have not yet located the suspect but continue to follow up on several leads.

According to McKinley, the victim and witnesses said the suspect and victim exchanged words and then fought physically until someone broke it up around 2 a.m.

McKinley said the suspect began walking south through an alley and victim reportedly went after him. Shortly after, the victim ran out of the alley stating the suspect had a gun. The victim got in a car and drove north through the alley behind the Replay Lounge and the suspect was seen running after the car with a handgun.

McKinley said the suspect fired one or more shots then fled on foot. Officers recovered bullets and a shell casing in the alley.
