Kansas women’s basketball adds Canadian forward

Lorraine Enabulele, a 6-foot-1 forward from Ajax, Ontario, Canada, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Kansas University, women’s coach Bonnie Henrickson announced Thursday.

Enabulele lettered in basketball and volleyball at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School. In 2013, she helped the Cougars win a district title, and she was named athlete of the year in 2011 and 2012. She also was on the Greater Toronto Area High School All-Area team.

“Lorraine embraces being physical, and that’s a strength of hers,” said Henrickson. “She will bring physicality to the paint and the post position. She is 6-1, but has a 6-6 wing span, so she has length and runs the floor well. She’s a young lady that has a lot of passion for the game.”

Enabulele prepped with the Advantage Titans, a provincial team, which plays in the Juel League. With the Titans, Enabulele averaged 15.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 51.1 percent from the field.
