Today in Lawrence: Stop and plant the roses

Return of spring

We’ll finally see a bit of reprieve from the thunderstorms with a partly sunny day, hitting a high of 65 degrees and a low of 43 degrees.

Ashtanga Acrobatic

If you’ve ever dreamt of flying through the air with the greatest of ease, you can come pretty close at The Last Carnival. As the first week of classes get rolling, join in with this class that warms up the body with Ashtanga yoga, then transitions into tricks. Try your hand at acrobatic skills, turns, and tumbling in this course. The first of six weeks begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight at 315 N. 2nd St. Register for the whole course for $15 per class or drop in for $20 per class.

Plant flowers

If you have a free morning, take advantage of the spring weather and join your fellow Lawrencians in planting a little pretty around downtown. The parks and rec department is looking lots of volunteers, so grab a pair of gardening gloves and bring a friend! Meet up location and more info will be available when you sign up. Contact the Parks and Recreation administrative office at (785) 832-3450 or sign up online at http://www.lawrenceks.org/lprd/flowerplanting
