Jayhawk softball two-hit by Longhorns

? Texas pitcher Tiarra Davis limited the Kansas University softball team to two hits as the Jayhawks lost, 2-0, on Friday in the opener of their final Big 12 road series.

Chanin Naudin ended Davis’ no-hitter in the fifth inning and the Jayhawks put the pressure on by taking bases on balls and an error. The Longhorns escaped the bases-loaded jam with a fielder’s choice at home.

Chaley Brickey had the only other hit for Kansas and broke up Davis’ perfect game with a walk in the fourth inning.

Kelsey Kessler (17-13) allowed two runs on six hits in six innings while striking out seven in a loss.

Kansas (29-20 overall, 3-10 Big 12) and Texas (31-19, 5-9) play again at 3 p.m. today.
