A LifeStar flight took a patient to a Kansas City-area trauma center after Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical crews were dispatched to an injury accident near 8th and Monterrey Way late Friday evening.

A fire-medical official said Saturday that the patient’s condition was not known and that he could not provide details of the patient’s identity. And although fire-medical personnel were dispatched to an injury accident, it was unclear whether the patient was injured in a vehicle accident.

Fire-medical was dispatched at around 10:40 p.m. and the patient was flown by LifeStar from L.R. “Dad” Perry Park around 11 p.m.
