FSHS baseball falls short in 4-3 loss

? Free State High’s seventh-inning rally fell short in a 4-3 high school baseball loss to Olathe South on Friday.

Cameron Pope hit a two-run triple in the top of the seventh to pull the Firebirds within one, but FSHS couldn’t knock him in the tie the game.

“I thought we got a great pitching performance from Parker Tietjen,” Free State coach Mike Hill said. “We just couldn’t get a timely hit.”

The Firebirds, 9-6 overall and 4-4 in the Sunflower League, will have a quick turnaround as they return to action at noon today against Blue Valley North.
