Disc-catching competition for dogs coming to Lawrence
A disc-dog competition is coming to South Park in Lawrence on Sunday.
The Skyhoundz Disc Championship is free and open to the public. The event begins at 2 p.m., with registration beginning at 1:30. Novice and veteran competitors are encouraged to take part, according to a city news release.
Two events will be held: a distance and accuracy competition, as well as a freestyle contest. Members of the Kansas City Disc Dogs will be available to help teach dogs the basics of getting involved in the sport.
