An Ottawa woman who teamed up with her mother to illegally sell prescription drugs was sentenced Monday to two and a half years in federal prison, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom’s office.

Authorities said:

Brandi Bivens, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Methadone and morphine. In her plea Bivens admitted she conspired with her mother, Connie Edwards and others to distribute the drugs between 2007 and 2012.

The Franklin County Drug Enforcement Unit observed Bivens and Edwards picking up prescriptions at pharmacies, then later made undercover purchases from them. State prescription drug records showed that from 2009 to August 2010, Bivens received 1,056 morphine tablets, 351 Hydrocodone tablets, 432 Oxycodone tablets and 1,520 Oxycontin tablets.

Edwards and three other co-defendants already have been sentenced to prison: Edwards received 25 years, Shirley Price seven, Tamara Ledom 18 and Brittany Edwards one and three months. Co-defendant Angela Mitchell received one year probation.
