Lawrence police are looking for a man who was one of at least three to flee following an attempted car stop Friday near 27th Street and Inverness Drive.

Police have two people in custody and are now looking for a black man who is about 5-foot-10, bald and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants, according to Kim Murphree, a Lawrence police spokeswoman.

Murphree said police tried to stop the vehicle near a gas station around 3:55 p.m., but the vehicle drove away.

Police were unable to provide an update Friday night.
