Kansas sprinter Dixon named Midwest Track Athlete of the Year

Kansas University senior sprinter Diamond Dixon on Monday was named the Midwest Region Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The award is the fourth for Dixon, who earned the distinction for the 2011 outdoor, 2012 indoor and 2012 outdoor seasons.

Dixon, champion in the 200 meters and third-place finisher in the 400 at the Big 12 meet, will race at the NCAA Indoor meet this week in Albuquerque, N.M.
