KU track champs invited to White House

The Kansas University women’s track and field team, which earned the program’s first national title in June at the NCAA Outdoor meet, will be honored by President Barack Obama on Monday at the White House.

Twelve athletes from the championship squad will travel to Washington, D.C. The Jayhawks are one of 19 2012-13 Division I championship teams to be honored by the president in a ceremony on the south lawn.
