Area basketball roundup: Eudora boys advance to state

Boys 4A-II

Eudora 78, Osawatomie 53

Eudora — Andrew Ballock scored 23 points, brother Mitchell added 18, and Austin Downing chipped in 16 as Eudora hammered Osawatomie, 78-53, to claim a trip to the Class 4A Div. II state boys basketball tournament.

The Cardinals improved to 19-3 with their rout in the sub-state championship game Saturday at EHS.

The Cards will face a to-be-determined foe in the first round of state on Thursday at Hartman Arena in Park City.

Girls 4A-II

Santa Fe Trail 40, Eudora 18

Eudora — Shelby Dahl scored 18 points to lead Santa Fe Trail past Eudora in a high school girls Class 4A-II sub-state final.

Amber Moore added 12 point for Santa Fe. Abby Richson and Makaila Garcia led Eudora with four points apiece.

Santa Fe Trail will take a 19-3 record into the state tournament. Eudora finished 5-17.

Santa Fe Trail led by just two after one quarter but held the Cardinals to one point in both the second and third quarters.
