31-year-old man hit by car, injuries not life threatening
A 31-year-old man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Monday night with injuries that were not life threatening after he was struck by a vehicle.
Sgt. Bob Williams, a spokesman for Kansas University police, said a Chevy pickup truck collided with Frank Garcia as he crossed Schwegler Drive in the 1300 block. Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 7:30 p.m.
A nursing supervisor for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital said later Monday evening Garcia was still being treated.
Williams said he did not know how fast the car was traveling.
