LHS girls, one boy bowl way to state

? Lawrence High’s girls bowling team, and LHS boys bowler Tre Sexton, qualified for state at the Lions’ Class 6A regional Friday at Westridge Lanes.

The LHS girls — paced by Kierstan Warren’s fourth-place finish with a 550 series — placed third overall.

On the boys side, LHS placed fifth. Sexton placed sixth with a 657 series.

The top three teams and top six individuals not on qualifying teams qualify for state.

Free State placed ninth on the boys side with 2085 pins and sixth on the girls side with 1901.

State will be Thursday at North Rock Lanes in Wichita.
