Name: Pedro Julio Tovar Ballagh

Age: 29

Hometown: Amherst, Mass.

Relationship status: In one

Time in Lawrence: Since ’91.

Occupation: Cook and part-time musician

Dream job: Sound design or something to do with music

What were you doing when scouted? Heading over Liberty Hall with Liz to pick up tickets for a show.

Describe your style: Comfy! I really don’t put too much emphasis on style; it’s just whatever feels good. I came from a skater culture, so I like quality and clothes that last.

Fashion trends you love: Seems like pearl snaps are coming back into vogue.

Fashion trends you hate: K-Swiss

Fashion influences: I usually get my influences when I go out to a bar to listen to music. If I see a band that looks cool, then I appreciate their style and make note.

What would you like to see more or less of in Lawrence? More music venues, music shops and a BMX track. Less bars.

Tattoos or piercings: None.

Whom do people say you look like? I’ve gotten Wolverine, which is tragic! Or, on an odd day, Benicio Del Toro.

What type of music do you like? Primarily metal, although I go off into different realms like ambience, electronic to experimental stuff where you have to create new terms to describe it.

Tell us a secret: Sometimes I sink my own battleship.
