To the editor:

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the excellent staff at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire/Medical Department. A short time ago, my 7-year-old daughter suffered a traumatic injury involving multiple fractures to her right arm. As someone who has witnessed many traumatic injuries in the last 25 years, the injury to my daughter’s arm was one of the worst I had ever seen on a child.

The quality of care my daughter received was outstanding. That goes both for their professional and personal service. The staff in the ER was very attentive and was able to ease both my wife and daughter’s anxiety. They explained every step of the process and we never had to question what came next. There was no long wait and there was always someone in the room assisting in my daughter’s treatment.

I want to sincerely say thank you to everyone who made such a terribly difficult experience a little bit
