Lawrence High pitcher Bryce Montes de Oca was named to the All-USA Kansas baseball team, selected by USA Today high school sports.

Montes de Oca, a University of Missouri signee and a 14th-round selection by the Chicago White Sox in this year’s amateur draft, was one of two pitchers placed on the first team as he compiled a 1.45 ERA this spring.

Mill Valley outfielder Nick Wilson, who hit .429 with seven doubles and seven triples, was also placed on the first team, while De Soto third baseman Dylan Holden made the second team.
