KU’s Ellis, Oubre mentioned among top collegians at LeBron James camp

ESPN analyst Miles Simon was the latest to tweet praise about Kansas University junior forward Perry Ellis’ play at the LeBron James camp in Las Vegas.

“Perry Ellis has been so consistent all week. Jumper falling. Attacking from perimeter. Quietly doing his thing. Should have a good year,” Simon wrote.

Added former NBA coach John Lucas on Twitter: “Perry Ellis greatly improved. Told him work on his left, first shot 2day left hand. Way2listen young man.”

Oubre faring well: Jonathan Givony of draftexpress.com tweeted about freshman wing Kelly Oubre’s play at the LeBron camp: “Strong showings today from Kelly Oubre & Sam Dekker. Look like the two best wing prospects here. Jarell Martin and Vincent Hunter also solid.”

Added Lucas: “Kansas recruit Kelly Oubre looking good as advertised. One of top wings here. Will be immediate impact @ KU.”

Buddy’s boast: Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield may have given KU some bulletin board material Thursday at the LeBron James Academy.

“We’re gonna win the Big 12. I’m saying it right now, we’re gonna win the Big 12,” he told Jeff Borzello of CBSsports.com.

Recruiting: Carlton Bragg, a 6-9, 225-pound senior-to-be power forward from Cleveland’s Villa Angela St. Joseph High, tells Rivals.com he will visit KU and Kentucky. It’s believed Rivals.com’s No. 9-rated player also has Louisville, Illinois, Ohio State, UCLA, Arizona and Maryland on his list.
