Raiders split pair at KCK tourney
Kansas City, Kan. ? The Lawrence Raiders youth baseball team split a pair of games on the opening day of a two-day showcase Thursday at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
The Raiders beat BTE, 6-5, in the first game before losing, 13-6, to KC Elite-1 in the nightcap.
In the win, the Raiders trailed by a run in the top of the seventh inning before Jacob Seratte hit a run-scoring triple to tie the game. Drew Green brought Seratte around the bases with a RBI double later in the frame for the eventual winning run.
Nolan Prochaska earned the win, pitching 61/3 innings before Ryan Cantrell earned the save.
Lawrence committed five errors in the nightcap.
The Raiders (9-15) will face KC Elite-2 at 1:30 p.m. today and tourney host KC Bullets at 3:45 p.m.
