FSHS boys beat Buhler to open McPherson tourney

? Justin Narcomey scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead Free State High’s boys basketball team past Buhler, 67-25, on Thursday night in the first round of the McPherson Invitational.

The Firebirds (7-4) will meet Wichita North at 8:15 p.m. today in the semifinals.

After Buhler scored the game’s first four points, Free State went on a 17-0 run for a 17-4 lead after one quarter.

“Once we got going, we played pretty well,” Free State coach Chuck Law said. “Defensively, we played a nice game.”

Weston Hack scored 11 points, and Blake Winslow had nine points for the Firebirds.
