Veritas boys win 3rd-place game

— Chad Stieben scored 20 points, and Micah Edmondson added 15 points to lead Veritas Christian’s boys basketball team past Ludlow (Mo.) Southwest, 51-39, on Saturday for third place in the Braymer tournament.

“I just thought we played really well as a team tonight,” Veritas coach Blake Mudd said. “We definitely got a lot better by playing this weekend. We really buckled down this week and got better in practice.”

Miles Dressler added seven points for the Eagles.

Veritas (6-8) will host Manhattan CHIEF on Tuesday in Eudora.
