FSHS LB Loneker to play in Kansas Shrine Bowl

Free State football senior Keith Loneker will be rewarded for being one of the Sunflower League’s top linebackers.

Loneker was chosen as a member of the East squad in the 2014 Kansas Shrine Bowl. The all-star game will be played at 7 p.m. on July 26 at Carney Smith Stadium at Pittsburg State University.

Also joining Loneker to play for the East will be Baldwin High’s Chad Berg, Mill Valley High’s Coltyn Gatton, McLouth High’s Nick McAferty and Tonganoxie High’s Cody Snyder.

McLouth head coach Chris Stewart will lead the East team while Free State’s Mike Gillman and Mill Valley’s Joel Applebee will serve as assistant coaches.

Loneker finished his senior season with 47 solo tackles, 42 assists, 10 tackles for loss, four fumble recoveries and two touchdowns. He also added 445 receiving yards and six scores on offense.
