KU baseball wraps up tourney with eight straight victory

? Kansas University’s baseball team stayed perfect to start the season with a 9-4 victory over St. Bonaventure on Monday in the final game of the Snowbird Classic.

The Jayhawks (8-0) are off to their best start since going 10-0 at the beginning of the 2002 season.

Junior right-hander Drew Morovick (2-0) picked up the win for Kansas, striking out a career-high 10 batters.

Michael Suiter led KU with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Connor McKay, Dakota Smith and Tucker Tharp each had two RBIs, and Ryan Pidhaichuk slugged the game’s only home run.

Because of an unfavorable forecast, the Jayhawks will not open their home season this weekend. Instead, KU will play four games against Houston Baptist from Friday to Sunday in Grand Prairie, Texas.
