Free State Brewing Co., 636 Massachusetts St., is celebrating its 25th birthday this weekend, starting Thursday with 25 different birthday brews featured at different times throughout Sunday.

Show up to the restaurant on Sunday evening and at 5:25, owner Chuck Magerl will be handing out free pieces of birthday cake for those who’d like to partake.

Sponsored by Free State, The Bottleneck is hosting a birthday bash concert, featuring Chuck Mead, former Lawrence resident and co-founder of the three-time Grammy-nominated BR549. His latest solo project uses country as its core, with pop, R&B, hillbilly rock and Gospel influences. The concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $13-15.
